Hobart Playback Theatre Company
..... was established in 1994. It presents improvised theatre performances for diverse audiences in Tasmania. Whether in public theatres, workshops, community, educational or clinical settings, Playback Theatre seeks to honour people’s stories and connect individuals to each other, creating a deeper sense of community.
The members of Hobart Playback Theatre share many years of experience in this form of improvised theatre. A core group of the company has been performing together for over 10 years. The company members are all Hobart based professionals, and have a diverse skill set and backgrounds. Alongside their skills as performers, other arenas of work include health, education, environmental consulting, engineering, music and drama performance and training, youth and justice.
